This piece is inspired by Moroccan Wedding Blankets that are covered in round shiny disks. I used
shells and antique buttons to represent the inadvertent opening and closing up that occurs in a marriage between two individuals.
The buttons are from my Grandmother's antique button collection. I collected the shells from a beach, carefully looking for shells that are battered around sea rocks that slowly wears out the center of the shell to form an "o".
